Emtype Foundry is an independent type studio established in 2002 by Eduardo Manso in Barcelona. We specialize in offering retail and bespoke typefaces to clients worldwide. Our focus is on contemporary typeface design that goes beyond trends. At Emtype, we design typefaces that embody both quality and exclusivity, merging modern aesthetics with timeless usability.

People

Eduardo Manso is an Argentinean type designer who has been living in Barcelona since 2000. Before establishing his own foundry, he published numerous fonts through T-26, ITC Fonts, Bitstream, and Linotype. He has designed custom typefaces for clients worldwide, such as General Motors, ESPN, Puma, The Sunday Times of London, the Munich Airport, or the Gaudí house 'La Pedrera' in Barcelona. Among other awards, he has received the 'Certificate of Excellence in Type Design' from the Type Directors Club of New York three times. He currently teaches typography classes at several schools in Barcelona and actively designs new typefaces. He has been a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 2010.

In more than two decades several people have been involved, to a greater or lesser extent, in Emtype Foundry. Some former and present collaborators are Adrià Gómez, Noe Blanco, Igino Marini, Itemvirtual, Josema Urós, Pilar Cano, Ferran Milan, Joan Carles Casasín and Ilya Ruderman.
